-- Shake The Popcorn --
This thing was a bear to write. It took ten long days. It's one of my more recent compositions, written in October, 2004. That |
scale that the banjo won't stop playing started life as a "D harmonic major scale," but it's being played here against |
a tune in A minor, which makes it, really, an A natural minor scale with a flatted second step. That's not ordinarily |
listed in the lists of modes; it's an unusual scale, and it's difficult to work with. I had to spend some time learning |
the rules by trial and error. The result goes in the jazz bin, though it's not really orchestrated like most jazz. |
Key: A "jazz minor inverse" mode Time signature: 4/4 Tempo: 188 Length: 176 measures Time: 3 minutes, 45 seconds |
Instruments: Pan Flute, Banjo, French Horn, Trombone, Piano, Marimba, Bass and Drums |
