This photo was taken about ten miles North of Carson, Washington, looking Northwest toward the Southeast face of  Mount St. Helens.

The young Noble Fir trees in the foreground are growing in a replanted clearcut.
I had hired out as a whistlepunk and actually participated in the logging of this clearcut or one of its neighbors in 1962.
Forty years change things enough that it's pretty hard to tell if you're in precisely the same place.
